Let me start by introducing myself and the reason why I decided to start this little adventure! ( I will try not to make this to boring)

My name is Kerry, I am 31, a mother of a beautiful 6 month old son called Eddie and a wife to my lovely husband Mr Ormerod for a little over two years. I have two big fluffy puppers, Lucy and Sansa  (very loud but very soppy), two cats, Hugo and Sam and an adopted bearded dragon called Lenny. I work as a nurse and enjoy my job in the community very much.

After thinking about it for quite some time I finally plucked up the courage to put myself out there. It all started when I got pregnant. The amount of googling I did about being pregnant, what could go wrong, what to do, what was right and what was not recommended etc etc etc, scared, frustrated and angered me. It left me with the feeling of being judged and that no matter what I did I was wrong in somebody’s eyes. Enough of that!! I thought, it’s time to create a safe place. I didn’t want to hear how bad of a mother I was going to be and how I was going to “never be the same again” after the birth of my baby. I wanted comfort and reassurance!! I wanted somebody else to laugh with me about the awkward eye contact with the midwife who was doing an internal examination, somebody to tell me they too wanted pain relief during labour and not to be made out to be a failure for this. So here I am. If you want something doing …

Now I don’t pretend to be an expert at any of this parenting stuff. I am a first time mother so I am new to this. Yes I have medical experience and am capable of helping in a medical emergency but give me a screaming baby or talk to me about dilating and I will look at you with a raised brow and a “huh??” look on my face. I am no good with grammar, punctuation or spelling. I will make mistakes, it is what it is. I don’t pretend to be perfect and am by no means the perfect mother. This little project is aimed at bringing parents together, to laugh, to cry, to vent but not to be mean and judgemental towards each other.

There is a section called the “dad zone”, which speaks for itself really. It has come to my attention that a lot of parenting sites, blogs and forums are aimed at mums. Well dad’s you now have your own little piece of internet. If you feel you want to post something, drop me an email!!

I hope you all find this site a little delight with a little humour. There will most likely be times where you don’t agree with what has been said and how others have done things but we are all different and how boring would the world be if we were all the same??

You will find all sorts of things on this site and I will update as often as I can so please keep coming back to us. There will also be stories, experiences, hints, tips and even recipes from guests to this site so if you would like to contribute, please feel free to email me.

Love Mrs Ormerod
